Varvara Borysovska

My name is Varvara Borysovska, and I'm from Boryspil, a small town in Kyiv Oblast. I hold a Bachelor's degree with honors in Journalism and Social Communication from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Although I chose not to pursue a career in journalism, my path led me to the nonprofit sector — a space where I've found purpose, growth, and a deep sense of alignment with my values. Currently, I work as a Subprogram Manager at a nonprofit organization that helps Ukrainians improve their English through conversation with volunteers from over 140 countries. I'm passionate about making language learning more accessible, especially for those who — like myself — didn't have the resources to join expensive speaking clubs. I also lead a program that connects Ukrainian English teachers with international education professionals to support their speaking skills and broader professional development, and a program of Ukrainian language lessons for volunteers worldwide. Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a Master's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or Public Policy to deepen my expertise and amplify my impact. I am also exploring programs in Gender or Queer Studies, as a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a strong advocate for inclusion and human rights. Additionally, I care deeply about mental health awareness — particularly around ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, which I live with — and hope to contribute to building a more informed and compassionate society. Above all, I am driven by a desire to help others, to grow continuously, and to stay open to wherever life and my curiosity may lead me.
