Oleksandr Hryshchuk
Oleksandr Hryshchuk, born in Rivnenska Oblast, Ukraine, holds a BA in International Relations from the National University of Ostroh Academy. During his studies, he was active in the Foreign Policy Club and the School of Cultural Diplomacy, deepening his interest in diplomacy and public service. As part of a bilateral exchange, he studied at the University of Warsaw, where he also worked at the international education company Eurostudent, assisting Ukrainian students with university admissions. He collaborated with the Ukrainian House in Warsaw and Ukrainian Radio in Poland to organize talks and events promoting access to education for Ukrainian youth. While in Warsaw, Oleksandr co-founded Prosvita, a student-led project countering historical myths about Ukraine. He wrote and edited articles on international affairs and helped grow its online reach. He also volunteered with the UNITERS Foundation, organizing exhibition about Ukrainian students who left their studies to serve on the front lines, and raising funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a writer for the think tank SVITLOVEZHA, he contributed analytical articles on international policy and global affairs. In 2023, Oleksandr was selected to intern in the Canada–Ukraine Parliamentary Program, serving in the office of Yvan Baker, MP, Chair of the Canada–Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group. He later became a Legislative Assistant, supporting work related to the Friendship Group, the Finance Committee, stakeholder engagement, and Ukraine-related matters. Since 2024, he has served as Communications and Constituency Assistant to Karen McCrimmon, MPP, Liberal Critic for Public Safety, Cybersecurity & Crime Prevention, and Solicitor General at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, leading digital strategy and casework. During the 2025 provincial election, he supported her re-election campaign as a communications aide. He later volunteered with the campaigns of MP Jenna Sudds and leadership candidate Mark Carney, now Prime Minister of Canada. Fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Polish, Oleksandr is committed to democratic resilience and modern public service.
