Olha Shnyt

Olha is a psychologist from the Ukrainian Catholic University, with research grounded in moral injury and war-related mental health. During her studies, she co-founded and led "Pidsvidomi," a student initiative that organized psychoeducational campaigns, collaborated with mental health institutions, and hosted lectures by leading psychologists — reaching over 600 students. Her commitment to social impact extended beyond the academic sphere. As part of the volunteer initiative "YouInUkraine," Olha coordinated 70 volunteers delivering student-made powerbanks and charging stations to military units. At the same time, she served as Financial Specialist in “Mediablock,” contributing to strategic planning, organizing media events, and expanding funding opportunities for student initiatives. Driven by personal experience, Olha actively promotes inclusion. She co-developed the Erasmus+ program “Art of Wellbeing” in the Netherlands, focused on creative expression for youth with disabilities, and participated in multiple international Erasmus+ projects exploring equity and human rights through art. Olha’s academic achievements include the Health Sciences Faculty Scholarship, the Zagoriy Foundation Scholarship, and the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship at Dalhousie University in Canada. There, she works under the supervision of Dr. Patrick McGrath, studying the effectiveness of Written Exposure Therapy for youth with PTSD. Her goal is to eventually adapt evidence-based interventions like WET to the Ukrainian postwar context.
