Daria Hrosul

Daria is a young legal professional from Ukraine with a Bachelor’s degree in International Law. She currently works as a lawyer at the Centre for Democracy and Rule of Law (CEDEM), focusing on the development of civil society, particularly the legal regulation of volunteer activities and the security management of NGOs. Daria also serves as a consultant at the analytical center of the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association “JurFem,” where she works on issues of gender-based violence and women’s political participation. She is a Young European Ambassador and an alumna of the EU Study Days project. Committed to continuous learning, she is preparing to pursue a Master's degree in international and public law, human rights, or gender studies, while also attending courses at the Invisible University for Ukraine. Daria is the author and co-author of a number of analytical and methodological publications, including the Assessment of Gender Sensitivity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine based on a methodology developed by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE). She also initiated a national survey, together with the National Social Service of Ukraine, exploring the challenges faced by foreign volunteers in Ukraine. The findings of this survey formed the basis for advocacy efforts that led to the registration of draft law №13071 in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which proposes to cancel visa requirements for foreigners and stateless persons engaged in humanitarian and volunteer work in Ukraine during martial law.
