Mariia Rudenko

Mariia Rudenko is a Ukrainian professional in international economic relations, currently working in the Parliamentary Assembly of Canada. She is a 2022 alumna and 2023 coordinator of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program (CUPP), a prestigious internship that fosters democratic exchange and leadership between Canada and Ukraine. With a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Vadym Hetman National Economic University in Kyiv and academic experience at Vienna University of Economics and Business, Mariia combines strong economic insight with a passion for diplomacy, policy, and public service. She has held multiple positions in the Canadian Parliament, including working for Members of Parliament Annie Koutrakis, the Honourable David Lametti, Brenda Shanahan, and Rosemarie Falk. Her work has focused on legislative analysis, science and research policy, social development, and Ukraine–Canada relations. She also served as Communications Director for a political campaign and has experience in economic diplomacy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Mariia is deeply committed to advocacy for youth and vulnerable communities. She has participated in many charitable and educational initiatives for children, low-income families, and people experiencing homelessness — both in Ukraine and internationally. Her leadership has been recognized through international grants and scholarships, including Erasmus+. Through her work in Canada, Ukraine, and beyond, Mariia encourages young people to take initiative, pursue education, and use diplomacy and empathy as tools for positive change.
