Become a Mentee

Taisiia Taran
Growing up in the small town of the western part of Ukraine, I always strived to cultivate my mission through personal resilience and responsibility. As the Top-1 student, I transitioned to accelerated education, simultaneously completing 9th, 10th and 11th grades within one academic year. That time-period intersected with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of my home-country: most of the lessons were conducted in bomb-shelters, hosting students-refugees. Noticing educational gaps, I launched an accelerated study program in my lyceum, conducting lectures and consultations. As a result, my school was recognized as one of the top five best institutions, as more than 100 students successfully graduated with opportunities to navigate studies in safe environments. Through my life-journey, I completed the title of Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics, smoothly transitioning to coaching and conducting training for more than 150 young gymnasts. My approach changed when a new special girl with developmental delay joined my group. Step by step, spending hours in the hall, she learned to coordinate her movements, showcasing resilience in performances and redefining gymnastics inclusivity. Her efforts encouraged me to launch free training for over 50 special-needs children in my town, challenging the misconception that sports cannot be for everyone. Navigating my path in youth diplomacy, I became the International Representative of the European Youth Parliament Ukraine. I’m honored to chair both Regional and National Sessions abroad, strengthening the voice of Ukrainian youth, guiding motivated delegates through resolution writing while fostering critical thinking about the systems we rely on to address deeply rooted social issues through innovative collaboration on the global stage. For six years, my daily routine was writing scripts and conducting three educational programs on Regional Television where I shared new opportunities for the younger generation, providing space for youth academic passion. Afterwards, I worked behind the scenes, supervising 50+ TV programs and overseeing 100+ scripts.
