About the Program

ImpactUA offers immersive, project-based summer internships with Ukrainian NGOs, bringing together U.S. students and Ukrainians displaced by the 2022 invasion. Participants collaborate in teams on initiatives supporting Ukraine’s recovery. Led by Brave Generation and Razom for Ukraine, the program cultivates professional skills, cross-cultural understanding, and lasting civic engagement.

Interested in applying for an internship? Apply here.

We accept applications for full-time internships with Ukrainian NGOs from:
• U.S. students and recent graduates
• Ukrainian students and recent graduates of U.S. or European universities who began or completed their studies after the start of the full-scale invasion
• Ages: 18–25
• Due to strong international interest, the program has expanded eligibility to also consider:
• Students enrolled in UK and EU universities, and
• Students of other nationalities studying in U.S. universities.

Applicants applying under expanded eligibility should demonstrate a strong commitment to Ukraine and clear alignment with the program’s mission.

ImpactUA Scholarship Program

Most participants in the ImpactUA Internship Program are expected to fund their own travel, accommodation, meals, and daily living expenses. However, ImpactUA is committed to ensuring that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available for participants who require support to join the in-person internship in Ukraine. Awards are competitive and may cover accommodation, transportation, as well as a modest living stipend.

Scholarship candidates are evaluated based on:
- Ability to make a meaningful contribution to the work of their assigned host organization
- Unique qualifications, experience, and skills that enhance the program and add value
- Strong potential for post-program advocacy and long-term impact for Ukraine
- Demonstrated financial need, where participation in an unpaid international internship would otherwise be impossible

Why ImpactUA?

ImpactUA is built on the belief that firsthand experience shapes future leadership, policy decisions, and advocacy—and that collaboration between Ukrainian and U.S. students is essential for cultivating the next generation of global leaders. The program addresses a clear gap: despite a strong interest, few opportunities exist for U.S.-based students to engage meaningfully with Ukraine’s civil society due to financial, logistical, and security barriers. At the same time, Ukrainian students studying abroad often have limited opportunities to return home and contribute to social impact initiatives in their country.

Through ImpactUA, participants:
- Collaborate directly with Ukrainian organizations tackling urgent social, humanitarian, and recovery challenges
- Receive guided orientation, ongoing coordination, and structured support throughout the program
- Build lasting professional and personal networks that extend well beyond the internship
- Return home equipped to serve as informed, credible advocates for Ukraine across academic, policy, and public spaces
