Sofiia Koliada

I am a motivated Ukrainian student with a strong interest in international relations, leadership, and youth empowerment. Over the past three years, I have actively participated in numerous national and international programs, including the Youth Leadership Engagement and Development Program in the USA and the Halifax International Security Forum in Canada, where I represented Ukraine on the global stage. I was also awarded a scholarship to attend summer courses in Germany through the “Ukraine in Europe: My Vision” competition. As a co-founder of the NGO Global Youth, I work to connect Ukrainian youth with international opportunities by organizing online and offline events with over 100 participants. In my hometown, I volunteer with the Interact Club “Zaporizhzhia-Khortytsia,” supporting local schools, assisting military efforts, and working with the city council on youth issues. Additionally, I lead the Communications and Support Department of the national GoGlobal Youth Council, where I manage media initiatives and youth engagement strategies. My creative side is reflected in multiple awards in city and district-level art competitions, while my academic interests have led me to complete courses in UI/UX design, marketing, and diplomacy. I was also selected to present the educational app “Mriia” to Ukrainian government officials and international partners. I plan to pursue higher education in the United States or Europe and then return to Ukraine to contribute to the country’s development—particularly in the field of international relations and by supporting our military through international cooperation. The Brave Generation program has played a crucial role in my journey by providing academic support, mentorship, and preparation for SAT, IELTS, and TOEFL exams. It has empowered me to grow not only as a student but also as a future changemaker for my community and my country.
