The team includes two survivors of the war in Ukraine, supported by the professional expertise of Dr. Anna Lordan, who has substantial experience in university-level education. Anna Lordan
Program Director
Anastasiia Vlasenko is a team member of Brave Generation, dDr. Anna Lordan is the Program Director at Brave Generation, based in Lviv. She holds a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from Stanford University as well as degrees from the University of Oxford and studied at Harvard’s Ukrainian Summer Institute. Prior to joining Brave Generation, she taught at Stanford University, Oberlin College, and the University of Leeds. Anna designs and leads workshops on attention and writing for students in Ukraine and beyond. She is also an accomplished literary translator: her work includes translations from Czech, such as the graphic novel Bílý Potok: A Story from the Borderlands by Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99, and from Ukrainian, including a poem by contemporary poet Oleksandr Kocharyan, which was shortlisted for the Ukrainian Institute London 2022 Translation Prize and published in London Ukrainian Review in August 2023. Bringing exceptional academic and leadership experience, Anna oversees the design and implementation of Brave Generation’s core programs, ensuring operational excellence and measurable impact, while contributing to the growth and development of Ukraine’s next generation of leaders.
